Madrassas in action: an IPPR field study

IPPR researchers have been speaking to imams, teaching assistants, parents and children at Islamic supplementary schools in London, Leicester, Bradford and Birmingham as part of the Madrassas in the UK project.  In April, the team visited a madrassa in West London to learn about its activities and why local Muslim parents are keen for their children to learn Arabic, study the Koran and know about their Islamic heritage.
