Commenting on First Minister Nicola Sturgeon's plan to maintain Scotland's single market membership, Russell Gunson, Director of IPPR Scotland, said:
“Following June's EU referendum vote there are clearly multiple mandates across the UK. How Brexit can mean Brexit across the UK, while, in Scotland, remain means remain is the key question facing the Scottish and UK governments, and it's right that the Scottish Government is setting out its current ideas on this.
"Brexit has introduced huge uncertainty and represents a real risk to Scotland's economy, public finances, and to the rights of Scotland and EU citizens. Maintaining the best form of single market access will be crucial in the future.
"In unprecedented times we need creative and flexible solutions from both the UK and Scottish governments, to find a settlement that works for Scotland, the UK and Europe."
