IPPR responds to CBI report

The influential IPPR think tank has responded to the latest report from the CBI - Going for green: the UK’s net zero growth opportunity.

Luke Murphy, associate director for climate, energy, housing and infrastructure at IPPR, said:

"This welcome report highlights once again that the green economy is the growth opportunity of the 21st century.

"But in the global green race, the UK isn't the only one competing for the spoils, and right now we're not even on the starting line.

"The answer must be for all parties to put green growth at the heart of their manifestos as this report is calling for. This must include putting in place an ambitious plan to invest in long-term, job-generating, green industries of the future, and undertaking reforms of the planning system, skills and education, and the electricity grid."
