Press Story

In a stark warning, Andy Duncan will say that it will be difficult to maintain, let alone improve, the UK's traditional position as a leading world player in the media because global competition is increasing, new forms of media are becoming more important and consumers have more choice. He will warn that position is also threatened by "over-regulation, bureaucracy, slow decision-making, and backward and myopic thinking."

Mr Duncan will also make a call for traditional rivals in the UK media to work more closely together with each other and the government and regulators to ensure a strong future for one of this country's most successful industries.
