For 20 years IPPR North has been conducting independent research and influencing powerholders, resulting in tangible, positive policy change. Our expertise in a wide range of public policy areas, from skills to regional economics, is highly regarded, and our networks across England’s regions are industry leading. IPPR North leads the policy sector in the regions on high quality research and impact.

IPPR North’s vision is of people and communities in England’s regions realising their full potential. It is a future in which place-based inequalities no longer exist, and opportunity and prosperity are open to all people across England.

Over the past two decades we’ve both driven and led progress – building our mayoral combined authorities, securing greater powers and flexibilities for our regions, establishing pan-northern institutions, putting the North in the lead on net zero – but we know there is much more to do.

To celebrate all the work that we have done over the last two decades, we are hosting a reception to mark a point of both celebration and reflection on the progress that has been made in the North and our regions to date.

We are delighted that we will be joined by the Rt Hon Angela Rayner MP, Shadow Deputy Prime Minister and Shadow Secretary of State for Levelling Up, Housing, Communities & Local Government to celebrate and share her thoughts on what comes next for the regional agenda.
