Working Wonders – The role of employability in tackling child poverty
About Working Wonders – The role of employability in tackling child poverty
Employability – and helping parents into work – is central to meeting Scotland’s statutory child poverty targets. However, there remain significant concerns around the scale of delivery, impact and funding being directed at employability, and in turn the likelihood of meeting those child poverty targets. At this event, taking place at the Scottish Labour Conference, we will explore the relationship between work and poverty, and the change required across Scotland and the UK to secure positive and lasting change.
Speakers include:
- Paul O'Kane MSP, party spokesperson on social justice
- Laura Millar, strategic manager, Fife Gingerbread
- Philip Whyte, director, IPPR Scotland
