Serah Makka
Serah Makka is the Africa executive director for the ONE Campaign, she leads Africa advocacy and Africa’s agency in the fight for more and better quality of development finance for Africa. Prior to her role she led ONE’s global engagement and mobilisation programme and was the country director for Nigeria.
Her rich and varied career includes development finance advocacy, strategy and evaluation consulting, and financial inclusion and government relations in Nigeria. She has over nineteen years’ experience as a global development professional and has worked in the US, Afghanistan, and Nigeria.
She is fiercely passionate about social justice and citizen engagement and has been recognized as Global 35 in International Affairs, Archbishop Tutu fellow and an African Climate Ambassador. She is on the advisory board member of several organisations and holds a bachelor’s degree in economics from the University of North Florida and a master’s degree in public policy from the Harvard Kennedy School.
